What’s one thing that you became scared of almost solely because you were repeatedly warned about it as a child?

For me, it was looking at the sun. Ever since I can remember, I have always been told that I would go blind if I looked at the sun. And as a reasonable person, I didn’t want to go blind, so I made sure not to set my gaze on the sun. I would wear sunglasses most days of summer, just to make sure that I wouldn’t slip up and lose my vision.

I had this fear of looking at…

As a young child, do you remember some of the books that your parents would read to you? Or have any of the books that you used to read a lot stuck with you up to this day? I’ve had some of those books, but one specific book that I remember from early childhood was Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”.

The book cover that opened up a world of imagination

I haven’t read it in years, but for some reason, I was never able to forget it, so I decided to go back and read it and see if I could figure out why, and I think I…

Some people think nonviolent protests and movements are the way to handle the situation, while others believe that this calls for riots and a recall of peace. Up to this point, I am not sure which method is being supported the most. If we…

The times we are in right now is a very unique moment in human history. In the past there have been plagues and crazy diseases, and there has always been racism and injustice, but it has never quite been on the platform that it is right now. These past months have been times where we need to come together as a people and help get through this as a country and a world, but that has not been the case. In the beginning, it seemed as if there was a possibility for there to be a great sense of community…
